well, I have now have 6 months of fresenius experience under my tool belt i have some questions for you techs. one - why don't they and provide their vinegar jugs with a red and blue connector? (i rigged up ours with both so i can suck sugar free vinegar through the acid line) two - what do you techs do about higher condos when you have a central feed acid and bicarb system? thanks

I agree about the vinegar jugs. We rigged ours with a Y and two pieces of tubing, we don't use red or blue connectors. As for the condo, do you have the check valves on the acid and bicarb feed line?
The acid jugs from Fresenius is for the bicarb wand and they say to put the acid wand into an acid jug full of acid. (We use a "Y" connector on the one gallon vingar jugs.
Higher Conductivity. What is the conductivity of the bicarb? Or, Is it because the pressure is to high? (I'm assuming that it is gravity fed.) G.E. Osmonics has a device that you can put inline after the head tank to reduce the pressure by about 2 psi.

yes we do have check valves on both acid and bicarb lines. they do help but we have a 48 station unit (yes i did say 48) with pumps on the acid delivery system. part of the problem is that with this big a space to pump around you can't adjust the pressure at the pump because then you have ideal pressure at the beginning of the line but not at the end. plus they have it plumbed so their are 3 lines going out for 3 different types of acid so you have a total of nine delivery lines each with a different pressure. it's a mess.

Check valves are required for machines connected to central feed systems. Reference section 2.2 of the PM Checklist (Revision "I")
