Hey guys, I have dialog plus machines and we had a bunch of them begin to dfs pressure test fail about a month ago. Most of them seem to pass after hitting hit to retry once or twice but that obviously doesn't make it alright. I do the annual PM's and I usually tighten up all of the calibrations(pressures and such) even if it is "in range" since they go a whole year before the next one. When I take them back into work room the pressures are not out of range enough to cause any issues and there are no visible signs of leaks. I started pressurizing sections at a time but figured I would come onto here to see if anyone else is having the same issue or if they know a "culprit"..Thanks in advance!!

Run the DF Pressure test in TSM. If it fails there will be numbers LLC and LLS. If it fails consistently at the same portion write these numbers down and call tech support. They can tell you what the failure is. On to other things. I have had 6 PDA's fail out of 22 machines that are just one year old. The main symptom is failure of the DF pressure test during start up. I have had minor problems with the dialyzer couplings cause failures during the leak test during the PM's.

TTech,
I had a few fail in our first year as well but as soon as we got those out they have been fine. When I went to BBraun class they told me that the leak test and the dfs pressure test in tsm mode was unreliable. The 8.24 software fixed the dfs pressure test problem in tsm mode but I didn;t hear anything about leak tests being corrected...you might want to ask them about that. As far as writing down numbers, yeah I am going to do that with Doug soon but I like to ask on here because sometimes they tell you that you need a new....... but then you replace it and it doesn;t fix it (just like any tech support) and then they ask if you checked some simple thing that doesn;t cost hardly any money to replaces so i was trying to bypass that. Thanks for the response.

When I attended the level 2 class we spent A LOT of time on troubleshooting using the DFS Pressure test in TSM. It got kind of mind numbing after awhile. Tech support should be able to help with a DF pressure problem. I'm at another clinic and away from all of my Dialog+ service manuals or I could maybe help with the LLC and LLS codes. Do you guys bleach your machines and if so, how often?

Yeah I used the codes in the manuals but it wasn't enough to narrow it down...I am calling them tomorrow either way. Thanks!!....oh and we do bleach but only on Saturdays so I'm not really worried about corrosion of anything.

we've seen this problem when the citric thermal was interupted the previous day the uf pump became jammed and would not turn freely.

Codes are good as a start. Here has been my experience. UF Pump.
The UF Pump could very well be the cause if it fails off and on. The shaft could be leaking pressure across it depending on the position of the head when it stops rotating. Change it out. If you don't have an extra part you can test it by switch it with your KP Pump or clamp it off during that part of the test to see if it passes.Clamp on the small tubing to the left of the pump. When the pump starts spinning again unclamp it and reclamp when it starts.

Thank you for this idea, l hope to try it on one of my machine with DF test fail.

yeah I actually have a few extra pumps that locked up from previous issues and I soaked them in citric acid and then replaced the uf pump with one of those and it fixed it....Thanks Henry
