Just a heads up to let you all know that AAMI has put its latest draft recommended practice, RD-52 out for public ballot. This latest recommended practice deals with Dialysate for Dialysis. This recommended practice defines from a user standpoint the requirements to produce clean and effective dialysate.
Now that this recommended practice is open for public ballot this means that anyone has a chance to submit comments for consideration before the document is published in final form. The public review process helps to ensure that this important document is agreeable with all dialysis facilities. Please take the time to obtain a copy, review the recommended practice and submit comments. By doing this you can help make certain you will be able to comply with this recommended practice when it is issued.

What do you mean by "clean and effective dialysate?" On another forum the term "ugly dialysate" was used.

Effective means that the dialysate be mixed correctly and made correctly weather made from powder or liquid, clean means that any contamination be within certain specifications found in the standard.
