Thank for all the good info, but I don't think I was clear. I would like to know how soon after loop disinfection do you take samples?

We do our cultures immediately before we disinfect the loop. If we have to do a "redraw" it is usually 24 hours after the disinfect.

We test immidietly after, so we can compare to the pre disinfection sample. This will be help us know if we have a problem in the loop and give us enough time to react. You should be able to draw samples anytime after you disinfect and get acceptable levels(if you have a good disinfection schedule). It will depend from loop to loop. I Have been in situations were loops had to been disinfected every 7 days or else they would exceed the reccomended levels(that sucked).

The reason we collect the samples immmediately before disinfect is to make sure our disinfect procedures are good enough to do the job for the entire month.
