2008H high conductivity, This machine with no errors, Temp. good @ 37.0+/-5. I have calibrated acid & bicarb, also checked incoming water press. and also Flow & Deaeration pumps, all ok. Conductivity still flying high @ 14.6 to 15.0, am I missing something? cant calibrate conductivity cell. I realy need your help on this one.

Thanks.

Why cant you calibrate the cond. cell? Make sure the meter used is calibrated right. Have you taken the A and B pump apart. It may calibrate fine but the seals may be of center and causing a ventury effect taking in more concentrate? Seen this one once or twice.

Try a new BATTRAM, they have a habit of going bad and not holding the calibration.

Check your specifis gravity on your bicarb and acid. I had this same problem a few months ago and found that the techs was mixing the bicarb too strong.

If this is not the case try what chuck suggested. You may try swapping a known good conductivity cell with the one in the problem machine also.

Good Luck Matt

I agree with Chuck on replacing the Battery Ram located on the Functional Board only because it is not letting you claibrate the conductivity cell, but since you have a high conductivity I would first try calibrating the Balancing Chamber Volume. I small pin hole will allow spent dialysate to leak into the fresh side thus raising your conductivity. If you are able to collect over 60ml, I'd replace the BC Diaphrams before the Battery Ram.

Let us know the outcome.

Good Luck!!

Thxs Guys,

I have re-checked acdid and bicarb calibrations, swapped Functional Bds, and check condo. cell, Dear & Flow Pump.
When calibrating Bal. Chamber, it gives out small amount of fluid, v-30 very hot, tracing hydr. hoses to a small white nipple to dain hose clogged. Unit works fine now with Cond. stable @ 14.1. Just curious, why was'nt any Flow errors activated since it should effect the hydraulics flow and pressure?

Thanks again.

Was the valve and drain hose completely clogged? If not this is why you were not getting any flow errors.

I had a similar problem once... V30 was not opening but not causing a flow error. It's pretty weird I thought. Suprised a line didn't blow off first. Ya learn something new everyday! (At least I do.)

I agree on all the suspected areas, this is the first unit Ive experieced such a problem with cond. It was not completely clogged but the volume was way below 60ml/2 pulses. anyway I cleaned out the drain hose and replace v-30, re-cal v-chamber and sure enough the fluid vol. 60ml sharp. Since my external meter show the same as condo. cell stable @ 14.1 after calibration and and repairs. its ok now.
(still learning something new each day)

thnxs.
