How can you tell if a check valve is bad on a 2008H machine? Do they visibly break or just cause problems during operation?

Usually you will see them swell--the yellow or orange band is not even all the way around. You can also test by removing uf sample port from machine and verifying no water flows from female end (on machine face). If the yellow one fails it will not pass UF integrity test.
