Aloha,

We had a little problem with our water temp from the R.O. into the dialysis machine over the long weekend. (Single portable R.o. into single dialysis machine.)

I think it's a documentation/spec problem. While we're sorting it out I thought I would look into the specs for our 2008K machines and see if there is a water temperature spec. Turns out there is, max of 25 degrees C (77 F).

So now I have a R.O. with connected temperature sensors to my Neo-2 meter. Generating a table of water "in temp" vs. "out temp", as well as the temp on the display (output) of the R.O. There is no dialysis machine attached, just hoses into a sink so no back pressure.

My input water temp has been fairly steady through lunch here and is around 22.5 degrees C or 72.5F. Gives me only a 4.5F degree head room for heat generated by the R.O.'s pump to be at the top of the range as spec'd by Fresenius.

What are other facilities doing to stay below 25 degrees C? Are you running a heat exchanger to cool down the incoming tap water before the R.O.? Are you concerned with the temp to the dialysis machine?

Thanks for any info,
Ron

If you are not having temperature alarms on the dialysis machine then I would not be to concerned about it.
