I have a 2008K w/8700 hrs on it. I've been chasing a temp problem around for the past couple of days. It passes the Service Tests every time. However, when I run it and watch the temp, it is normally nearly a degree off, on the low side. If I set it for 37, it holds steady at 36.3. I drop it down to 36, it holds steady at 35.3. Another tech began the work on it, and without doing much investigation, threw a new heater element at it. No changes. Since then I've put a new NTC-2 Thermistor in it, no change. Ive checked the voltages at the power logic card, pin six is low. That sends me to the Sensor Board/ Mother Board connection (C1 I believe) which is always high. Tech manual suggests new Power Logic and new Sensor Boards, I've tried both to no avail. Tech rep suggested Actuator board which did nothing to change either. I'm not inclined to throw a Motherboard at it, just for S&Gs.

Its obviously heating and cooling when directed, because when I bump it up or down, it responds. Just not where I want it. I've been very careful when calibrating and changing DAC values. I'll let it run for a good long while in order to get steady before confirming. Its dead on at 37 with my external meter during calibration.

Is the displayed TEMP on the home screen an average of TPRE and TPOST values? I think I read in another post that TEMPSET and TEMPCAL should be very close to each other in value, which mine are not.

Part of me thinks I'm being too picky with this machine. That 0.5 is the acceptable wiggle room, and it is passing all of the tests, and the techs can bump up the requested temp in order to match the patients need. Its just really been bugging me all week. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had exactly the same issue about two months ago. Couldn't get the temps to match. After chasing my tail for a couple days, I contacted a friend of mine and he recommended I change the triac located just under the power control board.

Machine works like a champ, now!

I would either try the PWR control board or the heater triac.

TRIAC finally arrived. (After a week I inquired to our parts people, who claim the fax must not have gone though...which means the probably never faxed it, but I digress)

I installed the new TRIAC and promptly tested the machine, which failed and worried me. I took the advice of some other posts and heat disinfected and rinsed it a couple of times, and recalibrated TEMP CONTROL. I gave it a good long while to level out (patience is key it seems with this calibration) and VIOLA! Passed all tests several times.

Thanks for the tips leading me to the TRIAC.
