What medical facility has the most technologically advanced water system for the treatment of renal patients, and what makes it superior?

It will really depend on who you ask. We have an Osmonics 23G RO at our out patient facility and Mar Cor Semper Pure 750 Verticial. Both are good Machines and user friendly. I don't know about any one system being the BEST. I feel like it is what type of system will fit the needs of your facility and type of feed water you have coming from the city.

So far the most "user friendly" water treatment I've seen is the CWP from Gambro. It is a direct feed heat disinfect system. The heat disinfection system does not require operator assistance as well as the membrane disinfection system. We have the system for about a year with almost no problems. The only problem was created by the ultrafilters located post DI by-pass.

We are also using the CWP. I would be interested to see exactly how you use it. Do you have it set up automatically?

Yes. It is set-up heat disinfect every day in the evening. The only time heat is not used is when the membranes are disinfected.

Hello!

We Have also Gambro CWP-100.

I think it is fine, but very expencive.

The pipeline inthe clinic is heat disinfected every night, and the nurses do the Dialox & alkaline desinfection twice a week. Chemical disinfection is very easy to make for the operator.

All the pipes, valves and transducers are labelled with the numbers, so its easy to make troubleshooting.

Our CWP is 10 years old, there sure has been some faulties during these years, but Gambros by-pass system is fine too. So if CWP breaks down, we by-pass it with so-called sterile filter. We can do dialysis with 7 machines for 3 days with this one filter. (The water is sure first pre-handled with charcoal filter and water softener.

CWP by GAMBRO is the best to date. The higher up front cost...pays for itself with semi-automatic features....it can be intergrated with their new dialysis machine too! "Phoenix" by GAMBRO
