Bicarbonate solution mixed on site should be used within 24 hours or less of preparation. You should also verify conductivity. For instance, 68-72 millisiemens for salt-spiked or "Drake" style proportioning. (59 meQ/L of sodium bicarbonate)
The best place to look for a "standard" is with the manufacturer of your specific brand. Each has slightly different specs & most use either conductivity, pH, and/or specific gravity to test for a "good" mix. The manufacturer of the mixing system should also be able to advise you as to "standard" procedure. We are held to following manufacturer's recommendations anyways!

Church and Dwight the major supplier of Dry Bicarbonate in the US offer a Bicarb video with work sheets and post test. The video has CEU's as well and is an excellent resource for getting started or just a review. You may want to contact them for this video.

If bicarb is mixed incorrectly does it affect conductivity? My high conductivity alarm goes off more than it should.
