lpdc,

That is going to depend on whether you use "Cobe", "Drake" or "Fresenius" style concentrate. When properly proportioned, Fresenius style will be around 2.0 mS.

I am assuming you are mixing your own bicarb. When I mix my own batch I get 50mS +/- 2mS. Premixed from the manufacturer I was getting 50mS on the nose.

Bicarb itself around 50mS. Using Cobe style solutions, the bicarb adds about 2mS to the overall cond. of the dialysate.

chuck w , orc, and km thanks for the info. orc, you are right were mixing our own bicarb. we are using naturalyte 9000 from fresenius ( nominal dilution of 1:1.83:34 ). we are using baxter machines. I checked our bicarb solution (mixed) and i got 70 mS . dialysate with bicarb only 6 mS. i want to know if these figures are ok . again thanks
