It seems there were an unusual number of adverse occurences in a short period of time. Check RenalWeb Homepage there are links to the articles

I heard they had too many pt pass away. This is not always the clinics fault. At my clinics we have a lot(all) medicare pts. They usually are in bad shape to begin with so you can't always blame the clinic, it is just the health of the pts.

Why would the police get involved?

From reading the articles it has been conjectured around our water cooler that it may be a problem with the water. The scuttlebutt is that they lost 14 patients in a very short period of time. That would be over 10% of a 120 patient clinic. It will be interesting to get the true facts if they ever come out.

If you go to careerbuilder.com and search for Biomedical Technician the Lufkin unit comes up. ???

Todays recent news says that Lufkin was running on a station expansion that had not yet been approved. Who is the Tech. Manager up there? Makes you wonder about the other clinics that he is responsible for.

Whats the Tech Manager got to do with the decision to run on un-approved stations? At DaVita the Biomeds have as much say so in facility decisions as a neutered cat. That was decision made by the Facility Adminstrator, Head Nurse or whatever DaVita's version is and their boss.

There has been an arrest made on a nurse who supposedly injected bleach into 2 pt's lines on purpose. See the story on our home page. WOW!

If the charges are true, I have no idea how a person could do this.
I have wondered how I would feel if a made a mistake that resulted in a patient injury.

How can something like this happen? Short staffed? Inexperienced? On purpose? It's very scary.
WOW It is hard for me to understand y this would happen? This person went to school to help people and now she is trying to kill? doesnt make since in my brain.
And it never said that she did it on purpose did it? maybe i missed it but did the syringes get mixed up or did she really try and kill these patients. Very sad feel bad for the patients families
