Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with their Phoenix meters breaking? I am having problems with either the tip breaking off or the inside port that the syringe attaches to breaking. I suspect it is just my techs being careless but I'm seeing this problem at all 3 of our units that use the Phoenix meters. Previously we used the Neostat meter and never had these problems. Thanks in advance for your replies!

We are constantly having problems with our Phoenix meters. Our problems range from the plastic tips breaking, to the units not calibrating to somehow fluid leaking onto the board. We are thinking about changing over to the NeoStat meters.

We use the pheonix meter at our unit, and for the most part breakage is minimal. I can sympathize with your problem, because at my unit everything else seems to break from rough useage. Knock on wood, the phoenix meter is serving us well.

The Phoenix and Neostat meters are identical in construction...you lose the ability to verify pH with the Neostat...it's gotta be the staff

Lack of planning on your part is not an emergency on my part

Let me say this, if your staff is breaking them, take a moment, say praise that they are definately using them and know this, sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get them to remember to actually do it. Keep tips and parts around and make sure you get the right size battery so the case closes. They don't all fit right according to Automata. Oh yeah, they have a new model out too, it's cool.

What solution do you use to disinfect your meter? Bleach / Neocare....Just make sure that the staff don't leave the chemical sitting too long on the meter's.

We are a 24 station facility that currently has only one working meter, the rest are out for repair. TALK ABOUT INCONVENIENT!!! We don't understand why they break so easily and often. We don't abuse them or drop them, so I understand your frustration
