How is fmc treating the biomeds these days? Is it still one biomed to each unit or are they covering more since the RCG takeover? Just wondering

unfortunately it was fmc that took over (acquired) rcg. RCG was a great company and a fantastic place to work. Don't know what has gone on since I'm a walmart greeter now.

Can someone who has gone through the buyout give some honest pros and cons about the process?

In our group of clinics there are only two of us that have Biomed degrees. We have seven more mechanical techs. This is to cover eight clinics and two accutes. Most of the clinics have mechanical techs that are pretty much assigned to a specific clinic. I myself travel between primarily three clinics. I stay busy we are short handed in all areas of employment. Nurses PCT's Clinical Managers Mechanical Tech's. I do see Fresenius in my area moving to a more mobile work force for all positions. I would think with all the sories in the news that the powers that be would reconsider the importance and investment into the technical programs. Just MHO!

We have 6 cinics and two acutes, 3 techs. Each tech is assigned two clinics. We cover everything at clinic from PMs to accounting.

Some of you seem like you're in good shape....7 biomed/mech techs 10 clinics. We can only dream...3-4 clinics per biomed down here. machine count in the 80's
