susan,
When we did our evaluation of the Braun machine we used the lines. I was skeptical at first about not having an arterial chamber but they worked great. As far as less waste goes, I doubt you will see any noticable difference, and for improved clearances, all manufactureres claim this. Chuck |

Chuck, I don't think that you had the line that Sue is talking about as I believe it is only for the H or K machines. The standard Braun line is unique as it does not have a pre-pump chamber but still monitors pre-pump arterial pressure, It has a post pump chamber that can allow the user to monitor post pump pressures if desired. I have seen the line that Sue described. It has no arterial chamber so there is less air/blood contact and uses an in-line sytem to monitor pre-pump pressure. NO Transducer protector is used-monitoring line connected directly to the port. The internal TP can't be contaminated as the in-line system has a non-permeable membrane. It looks cool and supposedly, the lengths of the lines and lack of air contact helps to improve outcomes. I don't want to sound like a salesman but I have looked at the line at meetings and if they make it for the Dialog, might try it. |
