Originally, NANT's focus was more biomed because thats what the membership base was comprised of. In the late 80's and early 90's the membership base shifted more towards the clinical side so NANT's focus shifted also. In the mid-late 90's the membership base actually became pretty equal and NANT responded by focusing equally between the two.

Here, like in most of areas, only one person can get off to go. I would like to see NANT record a dvd of the seminars and sell it to its members-at a reasonable price- that can't be spared from the clinics. I know John Sweeney was a wealth of information and I'm sure the rest of the speakers were also. Just a buzz in someones ear.

I have been attending for many years and regarding this years meeting: 1. the hotel was terrible 2. the content has been better in the past. There were many good sessions this year but not up to par with previous years. 3. it is important to rotate the location. While LV is a good draw it creates a burden when you have to lose 2 days for travel. Spread it around the country. I believe the content should draw attendance more than location. 4. As for being strictly Bio-Med NANT is for all Technologists. Sharing technical and clinical inforamtion makes us all better in our jobs. 5. The vendor area is slipping and I believe it may have been due to the location.

I was in Philadelphia on another matter and attended ANNA's preconference workshop on leadership.
I think ANNA put on a good program, plus I enjoyed a working lunch, an excellent keynote address by their president, a military color guard, a marching band, dinner, open bar and a dance.
I just feel we are missing out by not combining resources when our goals of providing quality care for the patients and a good work environment for staff are the same.

I went to my 1st NANT meeting, and I enjoy the meeting in part. I am a Machine Tech and I have to work closely with PCT's so it is benefical to know there job and them to know ours and how important "more information" is good on machine repair. So combining the two groups is good. However I will not attend any meetings in Las Vegas again, I am not a gambler and there was nothing there that appealed to me. The Hotel was terrible, especially the day the water was out, though no their fault, but they could have put Hand Sanitizer out all over and given us water to drink. I would like to see the it move around the country also. It is a National Organization not a western.
