Anyone know the part number for the power chord w/plug for the K-machines? as of now i've got the light gray plug with a clear purple plastic molded plug. and it's showing signs of burnt spots where the crimped connections are in the molded plug. thanks in advance
The whole assembly with molded plug is #150425. We are replacing the power cord assemblies on all 21 K machines we bought last year. All of them are tuning brown around the crimp connections in the molded plug. No problem with cords on H machines that have soldered connections.

Did anyone send any of these bad cords to the manufacturer, Electricord? And if so, what did they have to say about them?

More than a year ago I got 10 for free (had to send back my 10). The machines were less than 2 years old (may have been closer to 1 year old).
Of course, over the next year the 4 that I didn't send back turned brown also.
I just aclled tech support and complained and the guy just replaced them.
The problem is probably the poastic: since the poured in plastic connects to a crimped connection, it probably turns the plastic brown over time even though the connection is fine (just guessing). The problem of course is that it looks EXACTLY like heat damaged connections.
My GUESS is that the crimped connections would cause no problem if surrounded by air.

It's not the plastic! It is a bad or inadequate crimp connection that is overheating. I have seen several of these that got so hot that they melted the plastic causing the prongs in the plug to be loose. We did not send any back since our supervisors just wanted us to replace the bad plug not the whole power cord. Maybe if they were exposed to air they would cool down a little, but that is not the original problem, a bad crimp or maybe even an overload on the wire or the connection is what is causing this. As has already been suggested in previous posts about this problem, someone at Fresenius or Electri-cord should check this out before there is a fire that results in litigation. Frsenius continues to use these same cord assemblies on brand new machines. What are they sending out as a replacement part?

He should have the problem well taking care of. Does anyone pay attention to the dates that they are replying to?
I agree with kilowatt, we had some do the same thing and in our case it was definately an heating issues due to the crimped connections. The plugs got so hot that the whole plug was soft. The manufacture date on our bad cords is 12/13/2005. Perhaps some of the issue is that these cords are made using 16 gauge wire rather than 14 gauge.

There is an FDA investigation going on re: Electri-cord medical power cords. From the picture, they look identical to the K machine power cords. Several other equipment manufacturers using this cord have already issued recalls. Info is at this link: http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevi...otices/ucm187078.htm
