Everyone (us included) have concluded that 13.5-14.5 is an acceptable range for conductivity, however, the Fresenius H Machine's Theoretical Conductivity is:

1K = 13.5
2K = 13.6
3K = 13.8

Where should the parameters be placed around the 13.5? If it is 5% above and below, the conductivity would go down as low as 12.8 and not go into bypass. This is a grave concern in the home situation for the patient and the caregiver.

Does anyone have written rationale regarding this subject. Please help!!!!!

Thanks

In simplest terms.Your coductivity parameters should be set at the throretical conductivity of your bath. Such as us if you have and acid wiht the sodium content of 79 + a bicarb with the sodium content of 59 then you dialysate sodium content is 138.Your theoretical conductivity is 13.8. Set your TDC to 13.8 this will automatically set your hi limits and low limits.I hope this helps.
You can find this in you operators manual page 31, section 2.14. Good Luck

I forgot to mention it will not let you go below of 13.0 on your lower limit not matter what you set your theoretical limits.
