Is anyone elso having problems with the Fresenius Gear Pump Heads on the newer machines only lasting a year or so. I have never seen this before. At the first PM we are having to have the DAC as high as 215 to get the -24.

Jeff, are you adjusting the flow pump from the nut at the back too? That DAC value is too high.

Tightn screw on pump head, increase pressure, shorten life of pump head. Increase dac eat up the brushes faster. Brushes are cheaper to replace than the pump heads. 200 dac is as high as I like to go. Any higher to reach -24 I replace the pump head.
Jeff I've seen the same problem with many of the pumpheads from 2006 to now. They just don't seem to hold up like the older ones. Pump heads, weak springs, blood pump motors and rotors are all junk these days......

i have found u can buy time by switching deair and flow pumpheads,they seem to be able to push more than they pull fluid....like i said it buys some time for you....

Replacing pump heads at a DAC of 200? Wow, I believe I would have replaced just about everyone I've looked at in the past couple of years. I do agree, they aren't made like they used to be. I do like the switching the flow with deair, kind of like rotating your tires, give one a break, might check that out.

Hey, I just replaced two dear pump heads for two mew machines (6 mos and 8 mos old): when I did the first yearly PM, dear pressure was -11 to -14. I do not know how the machines could even pass test. I checked my gauge on other machines, and it was OK. The nut seems to have been adjusted correctly (almost all the way clockwise, but NOT all the way). Adjusting the DAC to 215 just barely got the pressure to -24/25. I just replaced the pump heads to avoid motor problems. With the new pump heads, DAC was back to 180, proving the pump heads were bad.
Of course, I missed warranty by a few days.
Several other problems mark these two machines as real lemons. It was a very bad day at the assemply line.

The second machine had less than 700 hrs on it.
The first was more than likely even less than that.
We have 21 K machines that are a little more than a year old. Almost all of them we have had to up the DAC value to around 200. The nut adjustment was about maxed out when we got them. We also had to replace a couple of the gearpumps. It was rare with the old H machine to ever need to go that high on the DAC value. Maybe it is just me, but it seems alot of the new parts are of poorer quality than the old. Stainless steel parts on new machine are corroded and rusty looking after less than a year(acid port and wand spike)!

I have brand new machines, K2's, and I have had the same issue. Maybe the DAC value isn't exactly the same on the K's as it was on the H's? None of the machines were failing anything I just notice it when I do pm's. I need to increase the DAC to around 190 to get -24.

The poorer quality is so you'll be buying the "T" machine next.....The Fresenius machines are like American Cars....disposable! Poor paint (chips and stains) Outter coating on screen sucks...the list is endless! I have 15 new K2's sitting idle for about a month- just from running disinfect cycles to keep the bugs out....I have had multiple repairs (mainly leaks) just from sitting....not looking forward to opening day......???

I have found the new hansen connectors are also junk. I guess with 70% market share they figure what's the point in using quality parts.

I have also seen with new machines in the last year that the hansens simply do not want to snap back into place like they should.
There is no doubt these are defective parts compared to the "old" ones.
