When the machine is in dialysis mode, the shunt doors are closed but the screen says shunt door open. when it is in a rinse mode and the shunt door is closed it doesn't give that message. but if i open it in rinse mode it'll say open like it should. anyone know why it says its open when it is not during dialysis.??

Check and make sure that the shunt door micro-switches are not bent.

if this is a h or k check the switch located in the shunt door you can stick your hand up in there and see if for some reason the hose may be restricting one of the switches or if one of them are bad. you will know this by pressing the each switch in and seeing if the each switch pushes back at you.

And if they are bent? Replace I'd imagine. Have never had a shunt door problem yet so gonna be new to me. I'm at my other clinic right now getting ready to head over to where the problem is. Any other suggestions
?

I would do what was already said check the hose to make sure it is not getting in the way. and your switches may just be going bad.
Also check to make sure that the hanson hoses are not getting caught up by the dialyzer holder. also one other thing is the little washers that hold the pin for the shunt door are in place. they seem to make a lot of problems. just a few suggestions

You can carefully bend those micro-switch pins back to spec, best to remove the shunt assembly.

If you can replace the pins successfully and no other problem will occur in the future, that would be good.
But from my experience, replacement of the shunt door will come, you know how many times this opens and closes.
