I have changed 4 hydraulic seals that were leaking on FMC 2008H machines. All these machines are barely hitting their 4000 hour mark and are 3 years old. I have worked on much older machines with triple the hours and I never had to change a hydraulic seal. Has this ever happen to anyone else? Is there a reason this is happening to these machines?Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Are they leaking from the corner by the heater? if so do you have the metal block that stops the lid from bowing out installed? it was a retro-fit for the newer style hydro(not hydraulic) block. It has kind of an odd shape is about 1 inch thick and has twoo longer screws that hold it in place in the two screw holes by the heater. if you need a p/n i can look it up at work.

Almost forgot, inspect your hydro block lid, if the front left corner(by heater) is severly bowed(ie large gap between lid and block you may need to replace the lid also. my machines were ok but they only ran 6-12 months before we noticed the leak and spoke to fresenius about it. The mod was able to press it down.
