Has anyone else problem getting out the heater bar? Doing PM today and had to remove water inlet/outlet assembly to remove the heat block to get heater out. Almost had to remove the bicarb pump too.

Anyone got an easier solution?

If your referring to the new style hydro-block assy, there are mounting screws on the top and bottom of the block, remove them and drop the assembly enough to remove the heater rod.

On new K machines I have to remove the bicarb pump to get the heater rod out. Once the bicarb pump is moved out of the way, remove the screws and bracket. The rod will slide out if you aim it towards the notch in the back of the distribution box. I have had to replace rods on 7 of 21 machines that are only 5 months old. Fresenius finally admitted they were having problems with the internal fuses in the rods.

The way I get the rod out is I remove the two screws that hold the hydroblock on the frame so it will drop down, I then get a long screw driver and remove the screws. With the block haning there, the rod should easily wiggle out.

That is what I have decided to do, just leave the pumps out til I am done. I also found a number of heater rods reading 22 ohms. What is Fresenius doing about it?

When we were having a lot of problems with heater bars, Fresenius extended the warranty. I do not know what the warranty is on heaters now.
