How do you find out what the cubic feet is on a carbon block? Is the calculation for Empty Bed Contact Time different with carbon blocks? I was told that a 10" big boy carbon block is about 4-6 minutes of EBCT.

joebiomed,
If you don't mind, please relay any findings if you come up with anything. I didn't have much luck trying to answer this previously. I looked into the NSF/ANSI 42 testing specs, which didn't seem to be much help when trying to apply it to the dialysis/AAMI spec of <0.1. Thanks

Who todl you that? I am curious. 4-6 minutes of EBCT at ...what flow rate? Whom ever you get it from should be able to hook you up with some technical data I would think.

I not really buying the 4-6 minutes either, when I get some time I'll have to start looking into some specs from the manufacturer's. I'll share what I find.
