Hey bikertech, where do you keep your cot?

I work 8 to 4:30 monday through friday. Not sure why you need to be in at 5 am or work after hrs unless you have problems? Sounds like you guys need to learn time management skills.

Its not as bad as it seems. I avg 8-8.5 hr days. Once in a while a bit longer. Id rather make sure its done right the first time instead of having to do it over.

I used to work for a chief tech. that comes in whenever he feels like it or comes in at anytime he wants to. I was just a tech back then.

Can't help but ask.... When are you getting your disinfects on the water system and the RO done? Unless you are in a clinic that is closed 3 days per week, you have to be there during non hours. Not to mention those of us that need to count inventory have to be there after hours also
I think alot of the disparity comes from different definitions of "Chief Tech". In some companies a Chief Tech is the person responsible for all things "technical" at a single facility. I am my companies "Chief Tech" and while I don't do much of the actual machine repair, I am the one that has to make sure the work is done at all of our clinics. So for a company whose "Chief Tech" is just responsible for a single clinic, my position would actually be something akin to Regional Manager or, since I am on the top rung of the Technical ladder...V.P. of Technical Services?
I guess what I'm saying is, be careful trying to compare your job to someone elses...just because the title is the same doesn't mean the job is.

He should start when he needs to and leave when he needs to.

You aren't the guy that walks around with the coffee cup and talks about your latest vacation are you? The rest of us are too busy. Like disinfecting, getting supplies that your boss swore you'd have enough of, and working on equipment that runs during dialysis hours.
