Hey there, we are replacing our exists portable RO's to start using the SLED program and the decision is narrowed down to either Gambro's WRO 300 or Lauer's (Fresenius)AquaBoss. Can anyone give me past experience pro's and con's between the two? We are looking to get something ordered in the next few weeks.
Thank You!

I can't speak for the Gambro machine but I used to think the Aquaboss was the best way to go. After having several of them, I would have to say they must have never hired a QC guy. Just about everyone of my machines have had an issue. Some were right out of the box, some where later down the road but I would stay away from them.

I don't use either but I was just talking to a guy that said the Gambro Units were a pain in the @$$. I have heard the same on the aquaboss. Plus everybody says that getting parts is difficult.

My money is on either the Millenium of the Better Water PB. I have used both and liked them.

I had a few WRO 300s fail on Gambro techs assembling and checking them. Disinfect wand/connection is not inpressive either. No AquaBoss experience. Milleniums are pretty good, and comparable with WRO300s as far as size. Mar Cor tech support is good too.

Thanks for the replys so far. We currently have the Better Water PB's the problem with them is the noise factor plus they do not have the auto flush and easy disinfect features that the WRO300 and Aquaboss have. I can't say anything as far as the Milleniums as I have never seen/worked with them.

I have used Better Water, Millenium, and F801.

Better Water drive me crazy with the carbon cartage, it clotted every two week. I have a 1 miron pre filter (10 inches), but didn't help. Once it has a low water pressure alarm , it shut off by itself.

The nipples and rejection select switch always lock off at the Millenium. Again, the low pressure alarm turn off the unit. Therefore, the nurse turn on the disinfection switch all the time. The docking is a great idea, but it is rusty.

I like F801 very much. The design was 20 years old (F800)technolgy, but it is a work horse.

You might want to look at Ameriwater portables. It's really quiet and easy to work on and disinfect.

In my years in dialysis (started 13 in May), I have used several different brnds of RO's. (Portable, that is). I have used and worked on Better Water, Zyzatech Mellenium 750, and the Ameriwater MROS. Out of all, the Ameriwater is by far the most user friendly for us. The Ameriwater RO's can be disinfected in an hour and 15 minutes. The Zyzatech's that we are still using take a minimum of 5 hours. The Ameriwater is the quietest out of all. As a matter of fact, we have one in a home being used as the RO for nocturnal dialysis. Not once has there been any bacteria issues with this home unit. We have just ordered and received two more of the Ameriwater's and plan on replacing the Zyzatech's soon with the Ameriwater MROS. I have used the Gambro and did not like it from a "working on standpoint". I have seen, but not used the Fresenius unit. Ameriwater's customer service is second to none, also. Thank you.

I only have one 300. The disinfect/cleaning cycles are easy to use. As far as repairs not sure yet, still has low hours. I've only had Gambro ROs so far, so not sure about comparision with others as far as noise. One thing I do like about the design is it has a small tank for the incoming water that creates a small buffer for pressure drops.
Hope this helps.

True, the AmeriWater auto-flush is nice. You can programm it however you like, AND keep clincial hands off by moving a jumper to lock out program changes!
Access is easy for working on it, but it's not the best as far as stability when rolling. That's my only complaint. Otherwise solid.

The Ameriwater MROS is the best portable RO out there. Not over engineered just plane and simple. It is a very nice machine to maintain and operate.Have had them all through the years and this is the one!!!
You have to touch it to make sure its running.
