I have a k machine with a good many hours on it.Last week in the middle of a treatment the conductivity dropped to around 12.5 and would not come back up.we pulled the machine and i have changed the springs and the pump on the acid and bicarb, and still have the same problem,it is really starting to drive me nuts, has anyone ran into this problem before.

Check the filters in the concentrate connectors and the hoses to your acid/bicarb pumps for obstructions or air leaks. You can just connect your acid and run in dialysis and you should get to a conductivity of about 10, use your hydraulics screen to read the conductivity. That way you can rule out which one it is acid or bicarb. If it doesn't get close to 10 probably something with the acid, if it does then could be bicarb.

Possibly a torn balance chamber membrane?

I'm actually having the same problem with a K machine too. only my conductivity is around 13.1 I've changed the tubing that runs from the wands to the inlet of the pumps but no luck. I'm stumped on this as well.

Replace you wands, check your temerature/heater rod, check the volumes of your bic and concentrate pumps, check the volume in your balanmce chamber.Check youe CFS

I have found that the acid pump seems to be my problem ,but I did replace it and now when tring to do a calibration the pump will only take about 5 ml through the prime, seem as if it doesnt want to run.I have changed both wands and all the orings. The book is telling me a bad functional board or sensor brd....

On new pumps make sure you have the right springs in it.They come with 1 strong and 1 weak ..You might need 2 weak springs as is most cases..

Turn the Fres. off swapp the connectors of your bic pump and your acid pump. If the bic pump only primes to 5 ml you have a electronic problem.Probably one of your drivers. If your acid pump still only primes to 5ml you have a pump that needs replacing/rebuilding.

The problem will be on the actuator board. Repalce the drivers for the acid pump. That should solve the proble. IC 23 and IC 24. They are the plug in chips with the heat sink and are known to fail. To confirm just change the chips around from Bic to acid and test.i.e IC 26 and 27 for IC 23, 24.
