My renatron is failing on step 47 tank volume Also low volume on calibration (about 42) I have replace all plungers. Any ideas? thanks

Try calibrating yet? If you can't get zero scribe line at step 8 or upper scribe at step 12, you could have a load cell problem or board problem.

Check the tank for cracks or fractures. I have had a few of them within the past couple of years. My Renatrons were about 3 - 4 years old.

Check the orings on the fittings that snap into the tank. Also the ISO connectors that go on the dialyzer head may need to be replaced.

Check the small line coming off the side of the tank. It should be clear of any other lines. Sometimes the reuse techs will pull the bottom line and cause it to hit the small line on the tank.

Could be a hairline crack in your manifold.

Hi all i need some information in reuse of dialyser. Because of staff negligence the staff used formula 409 solution for reprocessing of dialyser this is happening in morning shift, then the afternoon staff notice this after that we changed to renalin. So i want to know whether the dialyser have to be discard or can reprocess it again then can use for patients.
any dialyzer that contacts 409 needs to be discarded immediately! It CANNOT be safely reprocessed. The renatrons also need to go through the whole rinse procedure that is described in the manual and then put through the test sequence before you can reprocess dialyzers.
Staff that do a 409 on your renatrons should label the machines as containing 409 so those the next morning know it needs to be rinsed out before starting dialyzers. I would also question your reuse staff; didn't they notice extra bubbling in the dialyzers during the reprocessing? Any pressure fails?
magi - follow the advice from CTTechie; DISCARD DIALYZERS THAT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO 409!

Alex2 - most likely something is touching the tank and throwing off the load cell. The smoking gun is the low calibration volume.

Thanks for your advice!!
I call tech support and they told me that something has to be touchin the tank to get this alarm. I checked, nothing was touching it. Once I put the cover back, I tested again. Works w/o problems. I removed cover again, alarm comes back. I checked cover, top of the tank OK. I'll keep looking for a clue Thanks

CTTechie Thanks for your information. After two dialyser processed the staff noticed extra bubbling in the dialysers(but no pressure fail) so we immediately checked the renalin cans then we notice it was in 409 solution. After that we dicard the dialysers
Something that we used to do when we did reuse was, when doing the volume calibration check, instead of setting the minimum volume high so that it would fail halfway through, we set it low so it would complete the entire process. The fluid in the calibration cell was then checked with a potency (indicator) test strip. This positive test was documented along with the volume check.
