There are a few factors that could come into play on this. You said you have not done any repairs on the machine, does that include PM's. You should be doing a PM on the machine once every 3 months. If your machine has a diasafe filter the longer it goes without being changed the more likely you will start getting flow problems. The other thing is that Fresenius recommends chaging the brushes in the Flow and Dearation motors every 8000 hours during the Annual PM. I know you are under that 8000 hour mark, but I have seen brushes wear out that soon before. Then again I have seen them go for almost twice ast long as recommended to. If I were you I would start by doing a PM on the machine if you haven't done one, making sure to replace the diasafe filter if applicable, and check the brushes in the Dearation motor.

freseniusepk brings up some good advise, however, check out the latest pm scheduling from Fresenius (www.mfcna.com) for k models. Fresenius is now calling for six mounth pm intervals for certain serial numbers (documentation provided).

I hope this assist you.

It could be a problem with the CFS not functioning properly. The CFS signal goes to the sensor brd. and also the actuator brd. It passes through IC9 and is then sent to the function brd. V33 is also redundantely monitored by the actuator brd. So in addition to the above mentioned possibilities a brd. problem could be a cause also.

You are correct that there is a Semi-Annual and Annual Pm schedule if your machines qualify. The catch is that if you have the diasafe filter you still have to change that every 3 months. Not all machines qualify for the PM schedule, but it doesn't take much to upgrade most of the K's out there so they do.

Ive replaced filters every 3 month as recommended by Fresenius, some diasafe only lasted two three weeks then leaks, for pm's, I was told to follow the semi-annual and annual wich is 6 mo. and 12 mo., the unit mentioned is still in our repair shop, run this unit for four hours and showed no sign of flow errors or any problems, but I will take into consideration your advices to perform the 8000 hrs pm and check further on.

Check your Calib.'s, i saw a machine with all the Diasafe OLC options, and they had some of the pressures Calib. confussed, like the Loading pressue, instead of 24-25 psi, it was at 34 to 35, which should be the flow. Guess what dude, High Flow Error. Check your pressures. Hope this Helps.

F-tech,

As with anything man made, Fresenius has experienced premature failures with diasafe filters. If you haven't already, Save those pesky faulty filters and contact Fresenius, let them know the lot#'s and such. Fresenius customer service has been kind enough to replace them, however, they want the faulty ones back.

I hope this assists you.
