Guys,

I recently changed the display board (LP 708) on a front panel because the 24V pins were broken off of the board not to mention the entire socket that should be surrounding them. I put the new board on today, everything is connected, but when I turn on the machine, no plasma display. Just blank. The boards are the same (Type 2, with power supply). I checked the voltages at the 24V cable when unplugged from display board and I have 24V. When I plug it into the display board, I lose the 24V? All the other cables are plugged in and in the correct spot. Is it possible I got a bad display board or should I look somewhere else? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Matt,

I have gotten more than my share of bad boards from Fresenius. I would try swapping the entire front panel from another machine first then narrow it down from there. Its possible that you took out the plasma display itself.

Thanks, Chuck! Will try that. I was just curious if anyone knew any specific thing that could be causing the problem. I'm decent with electronics but I have no schematic and I'm not THAT good to figure it out by myself.

It could be one of the following: Power Control Board, Power Supply, or 12V converter board. Just some suggestions.

Sorry I forgot to post what the problem was. It was in fact another bad LP 708 board. It came from another tech so it was probably just damaged by him (although I wouldn't rule out a bad one from Fresenius, Lol). Changed out the LP 708 with another new one and it works great. Too bad the first one wasn't still under warranty.
