Techman I had that problem before with 11 B-braun dialog+ machines. Well this 11 machines were sitting in a warehouse for 7 months, when my clinic bought them. Then when I start to make cultures, I began to have issues wuth this machines. In order for my to resolved the problem, I had to installed DF filters on each machines. As you know DF filters are desigh to removed endotoxin and bacteria.

Where are you taking your sample? What kind of machine disinfections are you doing?( Citric acid, bleach?)
Also, are you disinfecting the water inlet line on the machine regularly(we do ours every 3 months). As far as technique, we culture in between treatments while the machine is priming. What are you doing when you draw your cultures? Do you have a set up that you reuse which could be contaminated?????

I disinfect inlet water line monthly by pulling in from loop during a system disinfect and have moved to weekly with Minncare and alternate with bleach(hard on the machine)and heat citric during the day. I have replaced the inlet water line and DMV and cultures are pulled at prime setup from puncture pad as well as hansen just to rule out and we have no reuse.

The puncture pad you refer to: Is that the sample port thats located on the dialysate line to the blue dialyzer connector/Hanson? What condition are they in?

The puncture pads are actually part of the hanson connectors and the pad part is replaceable. I have never been a fan of them and much prefer the sample ports that you install in the line itself.
